A
piece of history...
The Company was established by Luigi Capitanio in Bergamo
in 1873 where, besides producing pasta, the required accessories
for such production were also built. Later, one of the three children,
Camillo Capitanio, moved to Como where he set up his own
business in 1936.
Under the management of Camillo and of his son Giuseppe Capitanio,
branches in France and Spain were opened, thus setting up a flourishing
foreign trade which still continues with 55% of the turnover
dedicated to foreign markets.
In 1954 they decided to bring their production back to Italy
and the Torre Annunziata branch in (Naples) was opened in
order to supply the pasta factories in Southern Italy where the
concentration was and is exceptionally high.
Due to this choice today we can still boast to be the only Company
which is able to offer local assistance to every pasta factory
in Southern Italy within 24 hours (48 for Sicily and Sardinia).
Since 1975 the Company has been managed by Guiseppe Capitanio's
wife and son, Renata Consolaro and Camillo Capitanio. The
full autonomy in which the Company has chosen to work throughout
these years has originated a know-how capable of meeting the most
desperate of needs.
As a matter of fact, the type of customers, both in Italy
and abroad, varies from a small laboratory to leading Companies
producing pasta and snacks and to first-rate factory owners and
machinery manufacturers.
